The Shred-Day Two

She done kicked my butt again today. But that's the point, right? I just have to keep saying it to myself over and over.
I'm currently breaking one of the rules, though. I'm sitting here blogging (8:15 EST) and we haven't had dinner yet. But I have a valid excuse (I hope!). School isn't dismissed until 3:45 and I had a meeting (which I was responsible for organizing and running) that started at 4:00 and went until 6:00. By the time I left work the car clock said 6:40. It's a 30 minute commute to my house. I started the rice cooker, put the pork chops on a baking sheet in the oven, and then started the Shred. But there's no way I was about to eat first--that goes against all exercising/weight loss logic.
As soon as the hubs gets home (late work night for him too) I'm starting the spinach (which he asked for again tonight along with the rice) then off to dinner.

So, how was day two? Tough. It was especially tough since I started out shaky-could have even been during the first set of jumping jacks. I did, however, stop LESS tonight than I did last night. I can't wait until I'm at that point in this program (a week in?) that I think, "Wow, I needed to stop during this and do all the modifications?"

There are definitely harder parts of the program for me. I suck at push-ups but I'm trying. I'm not so good at the side lunge/arm raise with weights. I'm evening struggling to kick my butt--literally.

What can I do? I'm okay with the abs (minus her bicycle crud at the end, ouch!), squat punches, and I'm even getting better at the faux jump rope.

If I could change anything about the program it would be the commentary. I wish I had the ability to shuffle through motivational speeches or phrases that Jillian says to find the right one for that day. Today I could have used less explanation on things and more, "Keep going, push through, you can do it..."

But hopefully soon I won't even need those.

What did I eat today? (I should just say see Day One)
Green tea with mandarin
Low fat Greek yogurt with granola and honey

Green tea with mandarin
mostly green banana (which was surprisingly filling--and I love green bananas)

Romaine and spinach salad with some leftover chicken breast from dinner, carrots, and cucumbers (bals. ving.)
One half of a grapefruit

A quarter of a roast beef sandwich. That sounds awful, now that I type it. It was catered at our meeting today and I was starving--and it was delicious.

Teriyaki marinated pork chops
Brown Rice
Steamed spinach
(Of course, I haven't actually eaten this yet...)

And to end, I love how even beginning to work out makes you feel. You mentally feel thinner, more confident. Now, I just have to keep this up.

  1. I try to do something while she is doing her talking. For example extra cardio or marching in place. I don't want to waste any time. Hope that helps.

  2. I hate those dang push ups too! They kick my butt! Don't worry about eating dinner late- things happen- just fix it tomorrow. :)

  3. I'm rather annoyed with her talking also. I usually march in place and warm up a bit before her warm up. The hardest part for me is jumping jacks and jump rope. I had to stop a couple times and do some marching then start back up. You are doing great! Good luck with tomorrow! You can do it! =)

  4. I know what you mean about her talking. I almost wish there was some good music on in the background of the video to keep me motivated. I realized if I count how many things (like jumping jacks) I am doing that I start to want to take a break more so I have quit counting!
